Vito P. LoVerde

Mr. LoVerde’s practice encompasses general corporate transactions, employment-related matters and management of litigation.  Because of his prior career as a Chicago area Police Commander and graduate of the FBI Academy, he has also been called upon to defend corporate clients in cases involving negligent employment, supervision and security allegations that arise from criminal acts by third parties.  He believes his clients’ interests are frequently best served through alternative dispute resolution and has routinely participated in mediations and arbitrations in a variety of jurisdictions.  He has been recognized as an astute and skilled negotiator who has saved his clients millions of dollars.
           
Before starting his own firm, Mr. LoVerde was an equity partner at a major Chicago area law firm where he was a member of the hiring committee. His practice included general litigation, employment and commercial litigation, as well as business counseling for a variety of local and national clients.  Mr. LoVerde’s current role as general counsel for a number of local and national businesses provides continuity and cost-effective representation for his clients in both transactional and litigation matters.   Thus, even if an issue arises in a different jurisdiction requiring retention of local counsel, Mr. LoVerde’s close supervision and management of these attorneys eliminates local counsel’s learning curve and the need to reinvent the wheel, resulting in both cost savings to the client and the best possible outcome.

Mr. LoVerde received his BA from Northern Illinois University and his MBA from National College.  He completed his legal education in 1991, receiving his JD Magna Cum Laude from John Marshall Law School.

Susan M. Narimatsu

Ms. Narimatsu’s professional experience spans a wide range of leadership responsibilities in both health care and law for several large corporate and not-for-profit institutions.  Prior to re-entering private practice, she served as Associate General Counsel for a Fortune 100 corporation where she was responsible for managing the company’s general liability, security and loss protection, complex product liability, toxic tort, and vendor and insurance coverage issues throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  In addition to her own caseload, she counseled business clients, advised senior management, and supervised attorneys, paralegals and administrative staff.  It was there that she first collaborated with Mr. LoVerde on a variety of litigation matters.
           
Ms. Narimatsu began her legal career in Chicago, practicing in the areas of complex product liability, insurance coverage, medical malpractice and employment litigation.  Before entering law, she was a registered nurse with clinical management and teaching positions in critical care.  Her medical background, coupled with her legal experience, has proven to be extremely beneficial, particularly from the perspective of evaluating causation and damages as well as being able to advise and counsel a variety of corporate and individual clients.  Her current practice encompasses general corporate establishment and transactions, employment counseling and transactions, and litigation management.

Ms. Narimatsu has a strong commitment to diversity in the legal profession.  She sat on the Board of Directors of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association for four years, served as a diversity consultant for a large telecommunications company and was a frequent speaker in the area of diversity in the profession.  She continues to be a strong advocate of diversity and is dedicated to inclusiveness in the workplace.

In addition to receiving her J.D. with honors from DePaul University College of Law in 1991, she has a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Illinois and an M.S. from Northern Illinois University.
